IN MEMORIUM
SAD NEWS - It is with great sorrow that we announce Willie J. Ross, CFO of the Pro Players Association, passed away this morning, Sunday, April 22, 2012, after battling a long-time illness of Agent-Orange Disease and Cancer. A distinguished veteran of the US Marine Corps, Willie was a charter and active member of PPA since it's beginnings in 2002. He had been a World Champion in Karate and Jiu-Jitsu and was a trainer for boxer Ken Norton. Willie will be greatly missed by many, especially those who's lives he touched through his philanthropic volunteer work. Private services were held.
TEBOW SIGNS JERSEY DONATED
BY PRO PLAYERS ASSOCIATION
After much ado, Tebow comes through! The request to have a jersey signed for a local Colorado Springs woman willing to donate $1000 to the Palmer Reorda Fund in exchange for a signed Tebow jersey finally came to fruition this week. The financial donation will assist the funding of 8 year old Palmer Reorda's chemo-therapy treatments for his battle with Leukemia. Pro Players Association donated the jersey at a live auction held for Palmer's benefit on December 19, 2011 at the Antler Creek Golf Clubhouse in Peyton, CO. When the bids weren't responsive to the cause, PPA CEO Gary R. Adler got on the microphone and encouraged the audience to beef-up their bids. Melissa Devolve offered a $1000 if the jersey were to be signed. Gary responded that he would accept the bid pending on giving it his best attempt at getting the jersey signed by Tebow. After several attempts at contacting Tebow through his executive assistant at the Tebow Foundation, Pro Players was advised that if we donated the $1000 to the Tebow Foundation, Tim would gladly send an autographed jersey in return. We were advised that there was no alternative to that response, and that the reply via Tim's executive assistant was from the man himself. We then contacted Tebow's appearance management at Palm Beach Autographs where we were initially turned away unless several hundred dollars were paid for the autograph on our jersey. After several weeks of negotiations between Gary Adler and Tebow's management, an agreement was reached to have the jersey signed. Better late than never. Here is the result, proving, if at first you don't succeed...

FINALLY! Presentation was made Saturday, April 14 of the Tebow autographed jersey which we donated for the Palmer Reorda Family Leukemia fundraising efforts. The jersey went to a high bidder of an auction benefiting Palmer's treatment. A local Colorado Springs woman who donated $1000, Melissa Devolve accepts the jersey from Pro Players Association CEO Gary R. Adler, photographed by Lindsey Harrison of the New Falcon Herald. Special arrangements were negotiated by Pro Players Association and Palm Springs Autographs, Tebow's agent, to arrange for the jersey to be autographed by Tim.

Former pro-athletes get patriotic
DENVER - Professional athletes showed their patriotism Monday morning in an attention-getting way.
Former sports athletes were out bright and early to celebrate America's Independence Day by waving flags at the Union Avenue bridge over Interstate 25. They caught the attention of drivers passing by with their patriotic display.
Former Nuggets player and now sports radio commentator Scott Hastings showed up along with MLB Hall of Famer Bob McCaslin and others.
This group of people - called the Flag Guys - gathers every major American holiday. The group was started by Denver resident Chris Tucker. Tucker works with the Professional Arena Soccer League. He gathers fellow athletes to show off their stars and stripes.

DEATH NOTICES & CONDOLENCES
PRO PLAYERS ASSOCIATION OFFERS OUR SINCERE CONDOLENCES TO THE FAMILY OF MIKE CURRENT AND TO THE BRONCOS FAMILY.
Former Bronco Mike Current dies of apparent suicide
Former Denver Broncos player Mike Current died after apparently shooting himself Monday morning at Baskett Slough National Wildlife Refuge viewing area in Oregon.
Polk County sheriff's officials told the Statesman Journal of Salem Ore. that Current, 66, of Las Vegas, apparently fatally shot himself with a shotgun. Current also had lived in Silverton, Ore.
According to the Statesman Journal, off-duty paramedics found Current dead on a viewing platform off Highway 22 west of Dallas (Ore.) about 9 a.m. Monday.
Current, an offensive tackle, was the Broncos' third-round draft choice in 1967 (the 58th overall pick). He played for the Broncos from 1967-75. He also played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Miami Dolphins.
"We are always saddened to learn of a tragedy involving a former Bronco, and our hearts go out to Mike's family and friends during this most difficult time," the Broncos said in a statement today.
The 6-foot-5-inch, 274-pound offensive lineman started 164 of the 169 games in which he played.
The Lima, Ohio, native, went to Ohio State University and played for legendary coach Woody Hayes.
